A talk with Dr. Samara Klar

Women Also Know Stuff: Starting and Sustaining a Movement

In 2016, Samara Klar, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Arizona, started www.WomenAlsoKnowStuff.com as an attempt to help combat gender inequality in academia. Come hear Dr. Klar discuss how the initiative has evolved to inspire a growing movement in political science and what individuals are doing to help fight implicit biases in academia more broadly.

*** Because this is scheduled midday, we are serving a light refreshments for attendees. Please RSVP so that we can anticipate how hungry our crowd will be. ***

And don't forget to follow Dr. Klar on Twitter @SamaraKlar. Connect with the project on the web, or via Twitter@womenalsoknow. And learn more about the motivations for the project in this open access academic paper on the subject: Beaulieu et al. 2017.
